Resident Evil Village follows up on the story in Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. The game sees protagonist Ethan Winters attempting to settle and lead a quiet life with his wife Mia. Series icon Chris Redfield shows up one day and throws Ethan’s life into confusion, leading these two to a mysterious snowy village in Europe.
Werewolves, vampiric witches and Krampus-like goatmen are just some of the terrors glimpsed in screenshots and trailers so far. Like its predecessor, Resident Evil Village utilizes a first-person perspective and is built using the RE Engine that has powered Resident Evil 7: Biohazard as well as the remakes of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3. If the consistent quality continues, this could end up being one of the best PS5 games so far.
Is Resident Evil Village coming to PS4?
Source: Capcom
Right now, Resident Evil Village is only confirmed for current-generation machines, including the PS5. This allows the developers to take full advantage of the new hardware such as the ultra-fast SSDs. Capcom is looking into providing an option for players still on PS4 and Xbox One but is not making any promises.
Does Resident Evil Village support PSVR?
Source: Capcom
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard supported PSVR, allowing players to experience the entire game in terrifying virtual reality. Right now, Capcom has not stated whether or not Resident Evil Village will have similar functionality. Considering that the game is only guaranteed for current-generation hardware and PSVR games are PS4-only at the moment, we’re leaning towards this being unlikely.
When is the Resident Evil Village release date?

Resident Evil Village is currently slated to arrive sometime in 2021. Capcom has not yet given an exact release date, so hopefully we’ll learn more soon.
