In next 2 days, seven PM rallies in poll-bound states as BJP top guns fire on all cylinders | India News

NEW DELHI: Leading from the front, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address seven big rallies over the next two days. The rallies will be covering a distance of over 5000km in four poll-bound states of West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Assam and Kerala.
BJP functionaries say the huge turnout in Modi’s rallies has given a boost to the party and galvanised its cadres, which promoted the party strategists to increase his rallies in all these states.
The PM will on Friday visit Tamil Nadu and Kerala addressing two rallies each in both states, followed by his visit to West Bengal and Assam the next day. So far, Modi has addressed 16 poll rallies in the five states since the model code came into effect.
“The Prime Minister will be covering over 5000km in 36 hours. We all salute the extreme level of hard work he has been putting in for years,” said BJP chief spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP Anil Baluni.
Baluni said that senior party leaders believe in hard work and lead from the front to set an example for the party rank and file.
“Our party leaders leave no stone unturned to ensure zero complacency among cadres,” Baluni said and added that the long duration stay of senior leaders in different states played key role in making BJP largest party of the world.
The party top brass has been campaigning across all four poll-bound states and union territory Puducherry irrespective of the poll prospects as they have been touring even Kerala and Tamil Nadu, the states about whom they don’t sound as confident as in terms of West Bengal, Assam and Puducherry.
Other BJP leaders including party president JP Nadda, home minister Amit Shah, defence minister Rajnath Singh have been touring the poll bound states evenly making it clear that party is focused even on states, which may not have immediate electoral possibilities but one way they will turn a major force in those states too.
Senior party leaders have exuded confidence of retaining power in Assam, breaking the TMC citadel in West Bengal, a win in Puducherry but they are equally confident of better results in other two states Tamil Nadu and Kerala, claiming that the central schemes have generated goodwill for the party in the two southern states too.
Home minister Amit Shah has addressed 39 rallies and taken out 10 road shows, where as Nadda has participated in 35 political events in the five states including nine road shows. Of the nine road shows, he took out four in Kerala.
“From April 1 to April 27, Nadda ji will address 62 poll rallies,” his office informed TOI. Rajnath Singh, who has been another leader frequenting the South Indian states, has done over 22 rallies and a few road shows.
