Huntington Bank Deposit Accounts
Asterisk-Free Checking is a non-interest-bearing checking account with no “gotcha” provisions. There’s no minimum balance required to open an account and no monthly maintenance fee. It’s the perfect choice if you’re just looking for a no-frills, no-fee checking account.
Huntington 5 Checking
This is an interest-bearing checking account. Up to five ATM fees are waived per banking cycle. And you can earn a Voice Credit Card™ bonus of 1.05% when you open a new account. This checking account also comes with family banking and credit score monitoring. The interest rate you’ll earn on your account depends on your location, as determined by your ZIP Code.
The account has a monthly maintenance fee of $5. But the bank waives it if you have at least $5,000 in total relationship balances.
Huntington 25 Checking
This is another interest-bearing checking account, and it provides unlimited ATM fee reimbursements. It comes with a Voice Credit Card bonus of 1.25%, and it offers identity monitoring, unlimited free checks, and discounts on home equity lines of credit and mortgage loans. The interest rate on the account depends on your location, as determined by your ZIP Code.
And it’s the only checking account offered by the bank that comes with 100 commission-free online equity or exchange-traded fund (ETF) trades per year through Huntington Financial Advisors. (Normal trading fees are $6.95 per trade.)
The account has a $25 monthly maintenance fee. But the bank waives it if you have at least $25,000 in total relationship balances.
Huntington Relationship Money Market Account
The money market account (MMA) has many of the features of the checking accounts. There’s a monthly maintenance fee of $25. But the bank waives it if you either maintain an average daily balance of $25,000 or have either a Huntington 5 or Huntington 25 Checking Account.
The MMA has a very complicated interest rate structure. For example, balances under $25,000 earn no interest. The current rate is 0.40% APY on balances of $25,000 to $2,000,000. But that’s good for only the first 90 days and drops to 0.25% APY after that.
As you can see, the MMA pays slightly higher interest rates if the account is combined with either a Huntington 5 or Huntington 25 Checking Account or a Private Client Account.
Huntington Relationship Savings
This is an interest-bearing savings account that pays a higher rate if you also have either a Huntington 5 or 25 Checking Account or a Private Client Account.
Your interest rate depends on the account relationship and where you live. The account also has a $10 monthly maintenance fee. But again, the bank waives it if you maintain an average daily balance of $2,500 or have a Huntington 5 or 25 Checking Account.
Huntington Premier Savings
This simple savings account pays 0.02% APY on all account balances. The account requires a minimum initial deposit of $50. And there is a $4 monthly maintenance fee that’s waived with an average daily balance of at least $300 or when you also have an Asterisk-Free Checking Account.
Certificates of Deposit
Huntington Bank certificates of deposit (CDs) are available in denominations of $1,000. CDs are available for both regular depositors and IRA accounts.
The bank uses a two-tiered interest rate structure. On CDs with balances ranging from $1,000 to $99,999.99 and with terms ranging from 1 to 72 months, yields range from a low of 0.01% to a high of 0.25% APY.
Jumbo fixed-rate CDs are available with balances of $100,000 to $100 million. Terms range from seven days to 60 months, with interest rates ranging from 0.01% to 0.25% APY.
Huntington Investment Company
In addition to deposit accounts, Huntington also offers investment services through Huntington Investment Company. The service is available for life and income planning, growing and managing your wealth, and trust and asset management.
The company works with you to plan for retirement and education needs. It also helps you manage your finances when there are changes in family status, impairment of loved ones, new wealth, monetary windfalls, next-generation or charitable giving, and life, disability, and long-term care.

Other Huntington Banking Services
Huntington Bank offers Private Banking to help you manage your day-to-day banking with responsive service from a dedicated team. You also get 1.25% cash back rewards on purchases made with the Voice Credit Card.
Private Banking has a $50 monthly membership fee. But that is waived if you maintain at least a $50,000 average daily checking account balance or $100,000 in total relationship deposit balances, or $500,000 in total relationship balances, including Huntington Investment Company and any IRA accounts.

Final Thoughts on Huntington Bank
Huntington Bank will work best for residents of the eight states where the bank operates. It’s a good choice if you’re looking for full-service banking, which is not available with most online-only banks.
For example, not only does it offer checking, savings, and money market accounts, as well as CDs, but it also provides all types of loans. That includes mortgages and home equity lines, auto and personal loans, and credit cards. Most online banks specialize in one or two product lines, leaving you to work with another bank for all the services the online bank doesn’t offer. But Huntington Bank provides all the services you’ll need.
The major weakness with Huntington Bank is its relatively low-interest rates on deposit products. While the rates it pays are generally higher than typical brick-and-mortar banks, it’s not competitive with high-yield online banks. If you’re looking for high-interest returns on your savings, you may need to look at other banks that specialize in high-interest accounts, then work with Huntington Bank for everything else.
