The Guerrilla Collective online digital festival is back for its second day of 2021 on the first official day of E3 2021. This week’s show streamed on Summer of Gaming featured a ton of unique and wonderful indie games from developers across the world.
From Kitsune Tails to Loot River to RAWMEN: Food FIghting Arena, check out each and every game, announcement, gameplay video, and trailer from the Guerrilla Collective’s second day below:
Aragami 2 is a third-person stealth game that looks a bit like old-school Assassin’s Creed with ninjas. It’s a sequel to the original Aragami, a game about an assassin with strange, supernatural powers to control shadows. During the Guerrilla Collective’s second day, Aragami 2 received a new gameplay video showing off stealth, assassinations, and shadow powers. Aragami 2 is coming out on September 17 on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
Akatori follows a young woman named Mako on her quest to save the world in a Metroidvania style adventure. Mako can switch between two different parallel dimensions as she adventures, exploring a fantasy world with magic and a sleeping ancient God. During Guerrilla Collective, we got a look at a new gameplay video with a reveal of the game’s first boss. Akatori is planned for release on Steam at a later date.
During Guerrilla Collective, we saw an interview with developer Innersloth as the game gears up for another new update. Among Us is out now on PC, Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, and mobile.
In Arcade Paradise, main character Ashley is given the keys to the family laundromat. But instead of doing laundry, Ashley turns the family business into the arcade of her dreams. Pick from over 35 arcade-inspired games to set up, play them, and manage the family business in this arcade management simulator. Coming this year to PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch.
Archvale is an RPG and bullet-hell game set in a world with a deep, tragic history. It’s your job to right the wrongs of the past and bring peace back to Archvale by fighting swaths of enemies and seeking the truth about the world. Coming this year to PC and Switch.
Arietta of Spirits
A young woman named Arietta visits her grandmother’s cabin after her grandmother has passed away, and meets a strange new friend. She discovers that the world is full of mysterious spirits, and sets off on a journey to explore the island, fight strange enemies in top-down action combat, and uncover the mysteries of the Spirit World. Coming this summer to PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch.
Batora: Lost Haven
Batora combines the genres of hack-and-slash and a twin stick shooter, in the frame of a story-driven, action RPG. This mix of genres surrounds the story of Avril, a young woman who lost everything in the destruction of earth and who now must try to save what remains of her planet. Batora is headed to PC, Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox.
BATS the Game
You play as Count Bloodvayne in a 2D side-scrolling action game. You’re on a mission to rescue your fellow members of the Bloodsucker Anti-Terror Squad using your vampire powers with lots of blood, gore, and intense combat.
Behind the Frame
Behind the Frame is a Ghibli-looking puzzle game about a young artist trying to find herself as she paints in her room, interacts with her neighbor across the way, and improves her craft. Coming to Steam at a later date.
Black Book is a narrative-focused RPG with card-based combat and roots in Slavic mythology. Explore a mysterious, magical world with gameplay inspired by Slay the Spire and SteamWorld Quest. Funded on Kickstarter in 2020 and coming to Steam.
Blooming Business: Casino
A business management sim where you run a casino for a town full of cute animals. Coming to Steam.
BPM: Bullets Per Minute
BPM is a procedurally-generated dungeon shooter where you have to fight, shoot, and dodge to the beat of the music, fighting enemies in rhythm battles as you go. Clearing rooms to the beat nets you better rewards and weapons, enabling you to become more powerful as you move through the dungeons. BPM is coming to PS4 and Xbox One this summer.
Death Trash recalls elements of old-school RPGs in a world full of cosmic horrors. It uses real-time combat and hand-crafted levels, and can be played either alone or in local co-op mode. Death Trash is currently in Steam early access and is planned for release in 2021.
Roguelike deck builder meets match-3 game, in Demon’s Mirror you’ll use cards to make your moves on the match-3 board, battle enemies, and improve your deck powers and abilities as you fight off horrible nightmares. Coming to Steam.
In Demon Turf, your goal is to take on the Demon King, who’s been challenging main character Beebz for some time. In this action platformer, you’ll combine movement and attacks to make it through complex levels and fight enemies. You’ll fly through the skies, climb, dive underwater, and tackle absurd platforming challenges if you want. Coming to PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, and PC later this year.
Despot’s Game is a rogue-like tactics game that takes place in a maze on a post-apocalyptic world. You’ll build a team and prepare them for top-down tactical battles…and then sacrifice them to get past enemies and try to escape. But if you escape, you’ll then be faced with the end-game builds of other players. Despot’s Game is coming out on PC later this year.
The titular Firegirl is a young rescuer just beginning her career in a city engulfed in flames. In 2D puzzle and platforming challenges, she’s equipped with a powerful hose and axe that she’ll use to clear fiery obstacles and rescue civilians trapped in fires all over the city. Firegirl is coming to PC and consoles.
The physical version of Ghostrunner on Switch received a launch trailer ahead of its release date on June 29, 2021. In our review of Ghostrunner, we said that its “lightning-fast gameplay makes for a short-lived but memorable action game with some incredible moments.”
This action-adventure RPG got a trailer at Guerrilla Games that emphasized its bizarre anatomical horror elements and surreal vibes. GRIME takes place in a strange, alien world where you fight enemies and then absorb their traits to become more powerful. It’s coming to PC later this year.
Happy’s Humble Burger Farm
In this fast-food management sim meets survival horror, you’re tasked with flipping burgers, attending customers, and running an entire restaurant. Everything will be fine as long as you keep the restaurant running smoothly and don’t mess up. Coming to Steam.
Hello Neighbor 2
In the sequel to the popular stealth horror game, you’ll once again be tasked with revealing the secrets of your creepy neighbor. The neighbor is controlled by an advanced AI that learns from your behavior and the behavior of other players as you progress, getting increasingly harder to avoid and outsmart. Happy Neighbor 2 is coming to PC.
Hunt the Night
Hunt the Night is an action-adventure game inspired by titles like Bloodborne and Castlevania, but with dark fantasy lore and a retro bent. Explore top-down dungeons full of traps and enemies and fight increasingly challenging bosses. Coming to PC and consoles.
King of the Hat
King of the Hat is a multiplayer party game where you and your friends fight one another by throwing silly hats. Includes both local and online multiplayer, and is coming to PC and Switch at a later date. A free demo is available now.
From the maker of Super Bernie World, Kitsune Tales is a game about a little kitsune trying to save her girlfriend in a platforming adventure, all while exploring the complex relationships between kitsune and humans. Coming to Switch, PlayStation, and PC next year.
In this action-roguelike with Tetris elements, you’ll be dropped into a procedurally generated floating maze that you navigate via a series of platforms that you can move any direction you like. Use the platforms to crowd control and manage the enemies you encounter along the way as you explore the dungeons further. A new trailer today shown during Guerrilla Collective showcased the game’s combat and the basic controls of its moving platform structure. Loot River is coming to Steam and Xbox.
Neverwinter is a free-to-play MMORPG that’s been out since 2013. During Guerrilla Collective today, we saw a trailer for the new bard class. Neverwinter is out now on PC, with the bard class coming soon.
No Longer Home
No Longer Home is a semi-autobiographical game about two protagonists who have finished university and are getting ready to move apart. It’s story-focused, with choice-based dialogue and a narrative about exploring the ordinary, mundane elements of life through the extraordinary. No Longer Home is coming out later this year on PC.
Potion Craft: Alchemist Simulator
Potion Craft is an experimental alchemy game in which you physically use every tool and ingredient in a burgeoning shop, in hope of inventing useful new potions and selling them to customers. We got a fresh look at its beautiful hand-drawn style in a new trailer. Potion Craft is coming out this year and has a demo available now on Steam.
Raji: An Ancient Epic Enhanced Edition
Raji came out last year as an action-adventure game set in ancient India. In a new Guerrilla Collective trailer today, we got a look at the game’s upcoming Enhanced Edition, which includes new Hindi voiceovers, new game modes, and other revamped gameplay features. The Enhanced Edition drops in Q4 of this year.
RAWMEN: Food Fighter Arena
A distinctly Splatoon-esque multiplayer arena shooter, Rawmen distinguishes itself mainly by the fact that it involves loin-clothed fighters throwing soup at one another, while occasionally trying to drop giant meatballs into the opposing team’s goal, or defend clam chowder from attackers. If that’s hard to imagine, never fear – we got a new gameplay trailer.
A robot-filled, NBA Jam-like, dunk-only combat basketball game got announced for the first time during the show – and promises a ‘roguelite’ campaign in which you upgrade your team to become the best dunkers around (in single player and co-op).
Sable is a gorgeous, open-world exploration game, in which you take the titular character on a rite of passage across her desert world, fixing up a hoverbike and helping those you find along the way. A new trailer showed off multiple environments and included some of the game’s Japanese Breakfast-written soundtrack. Sable is releasing on September 23.
Serial Cleaners is something like Quentin Tarantino’s Winston Wolf, the video game. An isometric stealth-action game told in flashback by four professional cleaners who helped the mob throughout the ’90s, it’s not your usual game approach – and the new gameplay makes it look very tense indeed.
Severed Steel is a single player FPS that looks to combine the movement of Mirror’s Edge, the slow-mo action of Max Payne, and the look of some kind of electro-nightmare. It arrives this summer, and we saw a new gameplay trailer.
Gaming’s most basic enemy, the Slime, becomes a tooled-up action game protagonist in this 2-player co-op title. Get a closer look in the newest gameplay trailer. Coming to Steam.
The Light of The Darkness
A 2D action-RPG, aiming to combine Castlevania’s structure with Legacy of Kain’s vibe, The Light of the Darkness is aiming to emulate the classics – but also adds physics-based flying to the mix. The game arrives in 2022, but we got a new ganeplay trailer today. Coming in 2022 to PC.
A hand-drawn, co-op sailing game for up to 4 players, Trash Sailors asks you to build and pilot an extremely unsafe “boat” made of garbage, before taking to the seas, destroying monsters, boarders and hopefully not yourselves. A new gameplay trailer showed off how you’ll manage it.
A top-down stealth-action game in the vein of the original Metal Gear titles, UnMetal plays like a parody of Kojima’s classics – and you can play a demo on Steam right now.
A quiet exploration game, Venice 2089 sees you explore an abandoned, post-climate change Venice on a hoverboard, while experiencing the sights and sounds through the medium of an extremely uninterested teenage girl, Nova. A Kickstarter for the game launches on June 2020, and a demo for the game is available now on Steam.
Announced by IGN last year, White Shadows is a bizarre narrative platformer about Ravengirl, who wants to escape a totalitarian city and its residents. We got a fresh taste of gameplay at today’s showcase. White Shadows is coming in 2021.
Wolfstride is a stylish, black and white, turn-based mech fighting game. Playing as an exiled ex-Yakuza, you’ll balance tactical fights with upgrades and repairs, not to mention exploring Rain City and meeting its mixture of locals. Wolfstride is coming to Steam.
