While it remains to be seen why Doom would have any interest in leaving his kingdom of Latveria behind in favor of gallivanting in space, it is worth remembering Doom has played a role in cosmic matters before. He christened himself “God Emperor Doom” in 2015’s Secret Wars, ruling over Battleworld and all that remained of the Marvel multiverse. Doom’s story has veered in other bizarre directions since, with the character even going through a brief period where he replaced Tony Stark as “The Infamous Iron Man.”
This new storyline also features the return of original Quasar Wendell Vaughn, which should be interesting given that his successor, Avril Kincaid, is also on the team. Are there now two pairs of Quantum Bands in the Marvel Universe?
